A Cultural Shift
Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) is a cultural shift. When site teams know that their safety and wellbeing are in their control, they are empowered to avoid unsafe behavior. They look for unsafe conditions and report those conditions to the Site Safety Team. All team members are encouraged to take the steps necessary to ensure that everyone on site gets home safely.
Nobody wants accidents to happen. So when safety is cultural within the organization, the team is inspired to act safely/be safe, and look out for the safety of everyone on the job.
